Use Of TV For Computer

Have you ever thought of using TV for computer? I am sure the idea sounds weird, right? But, you can actually use your computer as your TV and enjoy viewing channels as well as PC games on a big monitor. By doing this you can save money as well as time and effort.

Some Ways To Do This Are Given Below –

  • Find your TV input connections - there are usually 3 basis inputs - cable input or satellite input, RCA composite input (the 3 colors- yellow, red and white) and S-video connector. Some newer television sets come with VGA, component video inputs
  • Find outputs on the computer - many of the PCs come with TV compatible outputs. The usual outputs will be the S-video and the VGA outputs. Some of the newer models have high end outputs that can connect directly to your TV.
  • Get appropriate adapter for the connections - get a good adapter to help you have a TV for computer. A wireless adapter is recommended but it is a little expensive.
  • Connect computer to the TV - the TV compatible output like an S-video jack and an S-video cable is taken and connected. With proper connections done and with correct TV video input, you will receive the computer signal on TV.

The limitation with TV for computer is that the maximum resolution can only be 640 by 480. This is definitely lower than the resolution a computer monitor can fetch. Some adapters claim to give you higher resolution but that will only harm the quality of the television signal.

It is not difficult to have a TV for computer. If you are looking at it cost wise this is the best way to have just one as monitor instead of two at home.
